Jeremy Healy, born in Woolwich on 18 January 1962, sang in Haysi Fantayzee, co-produced E-Zee Possee’s Everything Starts With an ‘E’, a UK number 15 in 1990, and was named DJ of the year by Mixmag and The Face in the mid-1990s. Wikipedia still cites this domain’s 2006 profile of him.
The Wikipedia footnote that points here
Wikipedia’s article on Haysi Fantayzee explains what Healy did after the band: a solo single, When Malindy Sings, in 1984, then work as a DJ and album mixer, including for his former schoolfriend Boy George, and records on George’s More Protein label as E-Zee Possee. The citation for that passage is ‘TrusttheDJ – Jeremy Healy’, this site’s page at /JeremyHealy, in a Wayback Machine copy archived on 12 June 2006.
Haysi Fantayzee and a record deal on his twentieth birthday
Healy started playing records at a club called Planets and formed Haysi Fantayzee with Kate Garner and Paul Caplin. On his own site he says the three shared Caplin’s flat in West Hampstead, that he wrote the lyrics to John Wayne Is Big Leggy there one night, and that his dreadlocks got the group into The Face and then studio time at EMI. They signed their first record deal on his twentieth birthday.
John Wayne Is Big Leggy, their 1982 debut, was a UK top 20 hit per AllMusic. His Resident Advisor biography lists a gold disc for that single and silver discs for Shiny Shiny and the album Battle Hymns for Children Singing. Afterwards, per AllMusic, a visit to Danceteria in New York led him to start Circus, a club night of his own in London where he was the DJ.
More Protein, E-Zee Possee and an idea from Ibiza
In 1988 he produced No Clause 28 for Boy George on Virgin, and the two then launched the More Protein label. Everything Starts With an ‘E’ began, per Wikipedia, as Healy and Simon Rogers’ instrumental take on house music after a trip to Ibiza; George, writing as Angela Dust, and MC Kinky added vocals. The spoken hook came from a McDonald’s record featuring Ronald McDonald that Healy owned, according to the Discogs release notes.
Released on 31 July 1989, it reached number 69 and dropped out after a week. The reissue of 5 March 1990 peaked at number 15, and the Official Charts Company records 13 weeks on the chart. MC Kinky has said BBC Radio 1 banned it for its drug lyrics. The group’s other singles charted lower: Love On Love at 59, The Sun Machine at 62 and Breathing Is E-Zee, with Tara Newley, at 72 in 1991.
Mixmag’s DJ of the year, Manumission and the catwalk
His Resident Advisor biography lists DJ of the year awards from Mixmag in 1995 and from The Face for 1995 to 1996, and a gold disc for 150,000 sales of the Fantazia House Collection. His own site goes further, claiming he mixed the biggest-selling DJ mix album of its time, which was not independently verified. The same RA biography opens with a scene of him playing Manumission in Ibiza, and Wikipedia records residencies with Miss Moneypenny’s in Ibiza and Cyprus between 2004 and 2006.
In 2000 he became half of the trance act Bleachin’. At the same time he moved into fashion, working with John Galliano and Dior. Wikipedia says he has been musical director of the annual Victoria’s Secret show since 2001, though that line carries a citation-needed tag. In 2007 he worked with Gwen Stefani on her Wind It Up single.

What the night is actually like
There is nothing for him on the 2026 Ibiza listings. His island history as recorded runs through Manumission and Miss Moneypenny’s rather than a superclub residency, which fits a career that ran as much through pop, fashion and label work as through the clubs.
